Elizabeth
President and Project Manager
A dedicated and highly motivated professional with more than 30 years of surveying experience, Elizabeth has a focus on growing and moving forward in the land surveying profession. She demonstrates outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills resulting in effective working relationships. Elizabeth is based in Silverthorne, Colorado, and has spent her career providing land surveying services in the alpine environment of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Tom
SENIOR FIELD TECHNICIAN AND CAD TECHNICIAN, LSIT
Tom grew up in the Minneapolis area before attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins for Civil Engineering. After college, determined to move to the mountains, Tom settled in Summit County and joined Schmidt Land Surveying in 2013.
Tom is a Land Surveying Intern (LSI) and Engineer Intern (EI) in Colorado. He enjoys construction staking, boundary surveys and drafting. Tom’s most memorable project was the topographic and construction staking of the Sisters Cabin located up on Mt. Baldy.
Tom spends his free time outside biking, skiing and golfing with friends and family.

Brian
Senior Field Technician
Brian is from Lake Bluff, Illinois and graduated from Augustana College with a B.A. in Geology and Environmental Science. He moved to Colorado after graduation to follow his passion for skiing and began working at Beaver Creek and Copper Mountain. Balancing seasonal jobs, Brian found interest in the construction industry before transitioning full-time to Surveying.
Brian learned the basic principles of surveying under the guidance of senior members of the team and quickly developed an appreciation for the challenges of field work in the Rockies. He continues to expand upon his knowledge of our trade and has been working towards a proficiency with the AutoCAD software.
When he is off the clock, Brian remains on the move chasing lines on skis and mountain bikes, fly fishing, and waterfowl hunting.

Nikolaj
FIELD CREW TECHNICIAN
Nikolaj grew up in an army family, traveling until he graduated high school in Missouri. After High School, Nikolaj attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs where her obtained his undergrad in Geography and Spanish. He went on to receive a Graduate Certificate from the University of Denver in Geographic Information Systems.
Nikolaj is a Ski Patroller at Copper Mountain during the Winter season and spends his free time skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Olaf
DIRECTOR OF SAFETY & HUMAN RESOURCES
Olaf was born in Frederick, Colorado and joined Schmidt Land Surveying two years ago. He enjoys hiking and digging out property corners.
